Ahrefs Certification: What To Expect and How It Works

How it works
The Ahrefs certification is geared primarily towards marketers and SEOs who want to use Ahrefs to:
- Get better roles
- Land larger clients
- Deliver lasting marketing success
Only logged-in Ahrefs users can take the final exam and have a completion certificate issued in their name, which will be valid for 1 year.
Ahrefs exam
The final exam will test your overall Ahrefs knowledge — but it’s not tied to any specific course.
If you're not fully familiar with Ahrefs' core tools though, the How to use Ahrefs course is a great way to sharpen your skills before taking the exam.
Speaking of the exam, it consists of:
- 67 questions grouped by the course’s modules
- 1-hour time limit
- 3 attempts to pass it (which will reset after 15 days)
- 75% minimum threshold score to pass
Ahrefs certificate
If you pass the exam, you'll get a personal certificate of completion valid for 1 year.
The QR code acts as a security measure, helping you check the validity of your certificate.
You can then further save it as PDF, print it, or share it on social media to boost your skills and career opportunities.

To check your Ahrefs Certification score or your how your team has performed, go to Account Settings > My Certificates.
How to add your Ahrefs certificate to LinkedIn
Here's the exact steps to display your new certificate on your LinkedIn profile.
Once logegd in, go to the "Licenses and Certifications" area under your profile. Then click on the "+" icon to add a new certificate.
Next, enter the details of your certificate as follows:
- Name: Ahrefs Certification
- Issuing organization: Ahrefs
- Credential URL: the certificate's URL
- Skills: Ahrefs
Upload the exported certificate under "Add media".
- Title: Ahrefs Certification
- Description: This Ahrefs certification verifies the user's profieciency in mastering Ahrefs for SEO and marketing tasks.
Finally, click "Save" to add the certification to your LinkedIn profile.
