Bridge Page

What is a Bridge Page?

A bridge page is a specific landing page used in affiliate marketing whose purpose is to send the prospect to the destination page on another via an affiliate link.

For example, you see an ad about a weight loss course on some social network. When you click on the ad, you’re taken to the page on website A, explaining all the benefits of this new course. And when you click the “Buy” or “Get” button, you’re taken to the actual offer on website B. If you proceed and buy it, website A will get its affiliate commission.

Google defines bridge pages as pages only used to link to other sites and categorizes them as having “insufficient original content.”

Are bridge pages allowed in Google Ads?

Google lists rather strict requirements for the ad destination. They want the landing pages used in ads to be useful and to provide the best user experience.

“Insufficient original content” on the landing page is one of the reasons your ad may be disapproved, and bridge pages fall into this category according to Google’s policy.

If Google decides that your bridge page does not have enough original helpful content, the ad will be disapproved.
