Here are some actionable use cases for this report.
Click the Positions tab to see all the changes in your organic keyword positions.
For example, on 27th January, the Ahrefs blog had around 2,918 new or improved positions and around 2,773 lost or declined positions.
Below, we can see a breakdown of these movements. At a closer look, we entered the top 10 search queries for the keyword “affiliate marketing”.
You can select several days at once by dragging your cursor across the time period you want.
You can click on “Show 10 more” or “Show 100 more” to see more rankings.
Click the Pages tab to see all the new pages that started ranking for at least one keyword in the top 100, as well as pages that lost their keyword rankings.
Here, you’ll notice that on 15th September, we gained and lost an equal number of pages in the top 100.
From here, use the filters to better refine your results.
For example, you can see which pages lost their top 3 rankings (for the top keyword) by adding a Position filter between 1-3 for Lost pages.
Or you can see which pages lost their SERP feature. Analyze what happened so you can make the respective changes and bump back your rankings.
Looking deeper at the results, the majority of the pages that lost their SERP rankings were from our German blog.
