We have a unique opportunity for a talented editor to flex their creative chops and take our industry leading YouTube channel to the next level. We’re looking for a strong storyteller to revamp and elevate the engagement of our editing and thus increasing the value and entertainment of our videos.

This is a full time staff position, we're looking for someone be part of our story and fully embedded in what we're doing. Therefore we won't be considering freelancers for this particular role.

You won’t be at it alone, either. You’ll receive YouTube specific guidance from the very same people that have grown multiple channels to 10M subscribers & 5B views, using some of the most innovative creative formats.

We create engaging, informative, highly accessible and entertaining videos that will inform the average person on how they can take action to grow their businesses and expand their personal endeavors. We want to reimagine content that can inspire a wider audience. A significant part of how we’ll do that well is through powerful editing.

You’ll work to ensure each video resonates with our audience, aligning with Ahrefs' high standards of quality and transparency. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, creatively driven, and adept at managing multiple video projects in a remote, fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team in pre-production planning the story structure & script
  • Work with the marketing team to create engaging and visually appealing YouTube videos that appeal to a broad audience and align with our brand goals.
  • Edit and enhance videos using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Generate engaging animations, motion graphics, and visual/audio effects to improve content watchability and digestability of information.
  • Ensure all video projects are completed on schedule and meet high-quality standards.
  • Take feedback and implement revisions to deliver videos that maximize for viewer retention.
  • Understand retention data and decipher how to improve edits in the future to improve video performance.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of exceptional video editing experience
  • Excellent storytelling that hooks and captivates a large audience
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Excellent command of English (both written and spoken) to facilitate effective communication and interpretation of raw content.
  • Reliable internet connection for handling large video files and remote collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment

You’ll learn about cutting edge marketing insights, real world business applications, and data tools that can make significant real world impact and broaden your own skills and capability as an editor and creative. It will be your job to turn these industry leading insights into digestible, highly captivating videos that will appeal to the broader public.

You should be comfortable being able to work autonomously as well as collaborating cross functionally with other departments internally.
