We analyzed our database of 28.7 billion keywords to identify the questions that people search for the most on Google.

These are the 100 most asked questions on Google, along with their monthly search volumes.

Top Google questions by growth

Many popular questions don’t change from year to year. For example, people have been asking measurement-related questions since forever (e.g., ” how many cups in a gallon”). I ask that often too.

But there are new questions, too. These are the questions that have seen the most growth recently.

1. When does wicked come out on streaming

Monthly search volume: 7,800

Change in search volume over the past 3 months: >999%

The spike in searches for this keyword was due to the Wicked movie, starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. It was released in November 2024 in the U.S. The Wicked movie has already been incredibly successful and it’s no wonder people are looking for it on streaming platforms.

2. When did squid game 1 come out

Monthly search volume: 800

Change in search volume over the past 3 months: >999%

The spike in searches was likely due to the release of Squid Game season 2, released on Netflix on 26 December 2024. The first season of Squid Game was released in 2021 and received critical acclaim. It was extremely popular globally and the second season was highly anticipated. (I’ve watched it; it’s good.)

The spike in search volume will likely die down in the next few months as the hype over the second season diminishes. (Until the third season, and which the spike will start again.)

3. Where has jd vance been

Spike in searches for "where has jd vance been"

Monthly search volume: 450

Change in search volume over the past 3 months: >999%

The spike in searches is due to the seeming disappearance of James David Vance. Despite being the vice president-elect of the United States, he has maintained a relatively low profile, including notable absences from high-profile events, including a recent photo of Trump’s inner circle on a private plane enjoying McDonald’s.

4. Why is jim harbaugh limping

Monthly search volume: 400

Change in search volume over the past 3 months: >999M%

Jim Harbaugh is an American professional football coach and former quarterback who is the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). The spike in searches was because fans noticed the football coach limping during a game in Week 14, against Kansas City. His limp could be due to long-term wear and tear on his body.

5. What does apt mean rosé

Monthly search volume: 1,800

Change in search volume over the past 3 months: >999%

The spike in searches is due to the popularity of the song APT, by Blackpink singer Rosé. “APT” is a romanized abbreviation of the Korean term “아파트” (pronounced “apateu”), which translates to “apartment”. It is also the name of a popular Korean drinking game, played by participants chanting “apateu” while placing their hands in a circle, with the person whose hand ends up on top of the pile having to take a shot.

Here’s how to find the most asked questions in your niche:
