10x ChatGPT data, Gemini and Copilot indexes, see AI citations and more (July 2025)

Developing content to help you understand, navigate, and love using Ahrefs.

We’ve got 19 updates for you this month – wow – from expanded tracking in AI assistants to instant recrawls, smarter alerts, new filters, and more.

Let’s get to it.

Gemini and Microsoft Copilot indexes

Find two new AI search indexes in Brand Radar:

  • Microsoft Copilot, with 12M prompts from July
  • Gemini, which tracks links from both AI Overviews and AI Mode

Upgraded ChatGPT and Perplexity indexes

We’ve improved data quality and expanded the ChatGPT and Perplexity indexes with 10x more prompts. This includes long-tail queries from People Also Ask.

Most ChatGPT results now also include citations, which makes it easier to see when and how your brand is referenced.

With this, Brand Radar now runs on five massive prompt indexes (10M–100M+ prompts each), not just a few hundred like most other tools.

Pricing updates

  • Individual AI indexes are now $199/month
  • Existing users keep current pricing for at least a year
  • New: All Platforms add-on at $699/month/month includes all five AI sources

Subtopic highlights

It’s now easier than ever to write content that has a good chance of being picked up by AI assistants.

Just toggle subtopic highlights on in any doc to see how well your content covers the angles AI assistants care about. Sentences get color-coded by subtopic to show gaps and opportunities.

Attach article examples to Brand Kits
Brand Kits now support sample articles. Add a few when creating a kit to train the AI on your voice, tone, and structure – and get more consistent drafts.

AI citations

At the top of Site Explorer’s Overview, there’s a new AI citations section that shows you:

  • Citations: how many AI queries linked to your site
  • Pages: how many unique pages were cited

These are actual links in AI answers – not just mentions. Data comes from Brand Radar and is available on all plans.

Top entities

Use this chart to see the top entities tied to your organic keywords. Track the brands, people, and topics Google shows with your top keywords – and how it frames your site’s relevance.

Scroll down to explore the top 200 entities per category, or add specific ones to the chart to compare them over time.

AI content level in Top Pages

We’ve added an AI Content Level column in the Top Pages report. You’ll see a % score (with color bars) estimating how AI-written each page is. Click any score to open the full AI Detector report.

Use this to see how much of your competitors’ top content is AI-generated – and test your own with confidence.

AI Overviews chart
Brand Radar just got its first widget: a history chart of Google AI Overview mentions. Drop it into any of your reports.

Tag filters in Rank Tracker widgets
All Rank Tracker widgets now support filtering by tag, position, SERP feature, and URL – making your reports sharper and more focused.

Cloned pages
Use the new Cloned Pages view in the Pages report to see when your content appears on external domains – this could happen when someone iframes or copies your page, or when it shows up through services like Google Translate.

We’ve added filters for cloned pages and host domains so you can dig in quickly.

Export
Exporting data is now possible from any individual Web Analytics report – useful for sharing findings or saving snapshots.

Filter presets
Save filter presets across Keywords, Pages, and Overview reports. Presets are user-specific and shared across reports. We’ll skip any unsupported filters automatically.

Pinned GSC projects
In the GSC menu, linked projects are now grouped at the top – making it easier to switch between them.

Instant recrawls in AOA
If you’ve got an Always-on Audit running, you can now instantly recrawl any page with one click. Perfect for testing changes and fixes!

Custom alerts

You’re now in full control of Site Audit alerts – tailor them to match your priorities.

  • Want alerts only for indexability issues? Toggle them on.
  • Want to track when a product page goes out of stock? Create a custom issue and enable alerts for it.

Target URLs

You can now set a target URL for each keyword – Rank Tracker will monitor its position and alert you if it gets outranked by another page on your site.

This helps you spot cannibalization issues: cases where different pages swap rankings for the same keyword.

Advanced SERP feature filters
We’ve added AND logic for SERP feature filters, so you can now find keywords that show, for example, both AI Overviews and Featured Snippets.

You can also compare current vs previous SERPs – useful for tracking shifts in SERP features.

This filter system is now live in Site Explorer, Rank Tracker widgets in Report Builder, and Competitive Analysis.

New Site Audit endpoint
The Page Content endpoint gives you full access to crawled page content — raw HTML, rendered HTML, or clean text. Great for automated content audits or large-scale LLM analysis.

Available for verified projects, at 50 units per request.
