Ahrefs is looking for a Social Media Copywriter who lives and breathes language. We want someone who can make the complex feel clear, the mundane feel exciting, and the technical feel human. You’re a wordsmith, with the instincts of a storyteller and the discipline of an editor. You’re brave and bold with your choice of tone and language, turning heads to elevate the Ahrefs brand.

You’ll craft sharp, memorable, unapologetic, witty, humorous, dry and fun copy! You’ll apply this to our social media and contribute to landing pages, UI, ads, emails, blog posts, and scripts. If you’re the kind of person who obsesses over the rhythm of a sentence, who knows how different platforms “speak,” and who can turn raw ideas into tight, punchy messaging, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

Craft standout social content

  • Write platform-specific copy for X/Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube Community, Instagram, Reddit, and others.
  • Turn long-form ideas into tight, scroll-stopping lines, threads, hooks, and captions.
  • Adapt tone and structure depending on platform culture and audience expectations.
  • Repurpose longer content into social-first formats and expand social ideas into longer copy when needed.

Write exceptional copy across Ahrefs’ content ecosystem

  • Produce clear, engaging copy for landing pages, product UI, ads, emails, blog posts and video scripts.
  • Transform technical and research-heavy concepts into simple, compelling messages.
  • Maintain and elevate Ahrefs’ brand voice: smart, straightforward, and unmistakably human.

Blend storytelling, clarity, and platform strategy

  • Build cohesive narratives across Ahrefs various social channels.
  • Understand social trends, audience behavior, and how copy drives engagement.
  • Experiment with new formats, hooks, cadences, and storytelling angles.

Collaborate and refine

  • Work with product, design, research, and marketing to gather insights.
  • Help shape messaging for launches, announcements, and campaigns.
  • Edit ruthlessly, cutting fluff, sharpening ideas, and ensuring clarity always wins.

What We’re Looking For

  • A writer with excellent command of language and a portfolio that shows range and personality.
  • Someone who can turn complexity into clarity and boring topics into something worth reading.
  • Strong understanding of how different social platforms “read,” behave, and reward good copy.
  • Creative instincts paired with strong editorial discipline.
  • Comfortable working autonomously, moving fast, and iterating with intention.
  • Experience in SaaS, tech, or SEO is a plus but not required.
  • Someone bold in their ideas and brave in their creative decisions, with the ability to add smart, well-timed humor to their writing.
  • An independent thinker who can drive work forward on their own, while collaborating smoothly with a wide range of stakeholders.
