Very Technical SEO

RemoteSan Francisco Singapore

Hi there,

Let me guess which article has pissed you off the most in 2016.

It's probably this one.

If that is the case, you're probably a total SEO nerd and you're obsessed with the most sophisticated technical aspects of SEO that many of the "famous SEO experts" don't even know exist.

We need you in Ahrefs team!

Who we're looking for?

We’re looking for a person, who will show us in 10 seconds or less that we know absolutely nothing about SEO. Period.

Job's mission:

Push the entire industry forward, by helping Ahrefs team create world-class tools and content on the technical side of SEO.

  • 5+ years hardcore technical SEO experience;
  • Data science skills (good knowledge of math);
  • Unhealthy obsession with SEO experiments and case studies;
  • Coding skills (for automating your SEO research);
  • Good knowledge of Ahrefs platform;
  • Vast experience using all sorts of SEO tools;
  • Willingness to share your knowledge with the community;

Expected results:

You tell us!

What's in it for you?

We have a world-class team of developers, ready to solve problems of any complexity. You'll get to challenge that team.

We have tons of data about the entire web. You’ll get to slice and dice it and share your insights with the SEO community.

In other words, this is a highly autonomous position. We’re looking for a person who will tell us what to do, rather than wait for our instructions.

(We also have a website that might need some SEO fine-tuning)

Plus a competitive salary, obviously.

How to apply:

  • Send your application to (cc to with a subject: "technical SEO"
  • Tell us about your knowledge of technical SEO
  • Share your background in math (what level of math are you comfortable with?)
  • Tell us about your coding skills and how you apply them in your SEO work (attach examples of your custom made scripts);
  • Tell us about your most recent SEO experiment and what scripts/tools you have used to automate it and process the data;
  • Share your salary expectations and if you’re open to relocate to Singapore or San Francisco (remote is an option as well)
