Earlier this month, we published a blog post<\/a> showcasing all the new features added to Ahrefs\u2019 Site Audit tool in the past 12 months. Today we have even more improvements to announce!<\/div>\n

There are no revolutionary new features this time around. Think of these more as minor yet notable upgrades that make Site Audit just that little bit better, again.<\/p>\n

1. Faster data retrieval<\/h2>\n

We made a few essential changes to the way we store and process your crawl data.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s in it for you?<\/p>\n

All reports and all filtered tables (segments, presets, affected URLs) in your new projects will load much faster, which saves time.<\/p>\n

2. Revised crawl comparison<\/h2>\n

As you know, Site Audit compares the current and previous crawl to highlight recent website changes. Those changes are shown as green and red numbers in the various reports and in Data Explorer (with \u201cShow changes\u201d switch turned on).<\/p>\n

Before today, Site Audit did this even if the previous crawl was incomplete\u2014which gave you pointless data. <\/p>\n

Now, Site Audit only compares the current crawl to the previous \u201cCompleted<\/strong>\u201d one.<\/p>\n

To find out which crawl was used for comparison, check the crawl settings panel or hover over any number that shows a change.<\/p>\n

3. Revisited crawl statuses<\/h2>\n

We have generally improved the way we assign statuses to crawls. The most significant changes affect \u201cStopped\u201d and \u201cCompleted\u201d statuses.<\/p>\n

The crawls that reached the maximum allowable depth<\/em>, the maximum number of internal URLs<\/em>, or the maximum duration time<\/em> used to have the \u201cStopped<\/strong>\u201d status.<\/p>\n

Now these crawls will be labeled as \u201cCompleted<\/strong>\u201d as they actually have the expected output, limited to the crawl settings.<\/p>\n

Only the crawls stopped manually will have the \u201cStopped<\/strong>\u201d status in the project history.<\/p>\n

4. One crawl per project<\/h2>\n

Until recently, you could have two crawls running for the same project at the same time. This had no practical value and just consumed your monthly credits.<\/p>\n

From today, a new crawl won\u2019t start if there is already a crawl in progress.<\/p>\n

The scheduled crawl will be skipped if the previous crawl (whether manual or scheduled) is still running. Site Audit will continue to try to run the next scheduled crawl on the expected date.<\/p>\n

5. \u201cSkipped\u201d crawls<\/h2>\n

Now, whenever a scheduled<\/em> crawl cannot be started, its status will show as \u201cSkipped<\/strong>\u201d in the crawl history report.<\/p>\n

Scheduled crawls will be skipped if you have no Site Audit credits left, or when there is already a crawl in progress for the project.<\/p>\n

You can click on the crawl in the project history to learn why it was skipped.<\/p>\n

6. Improved error reporting<\/h2>\n

If there\u2019s ever an issue with a crawl, we show the cause of that issue when you open the crawl. <\/p>\n

But we realized that some of those messages left a lot to be desired\u2014so we improved them.<\/p>\n
