That\u2019s because the benefits of brand awareness <strong>compound<\/strong>. Building awareness will bring you&nbsp;more:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>AI traffic.&nbsp;<\/strong>AI is an entirely new channel, giving you first mover advantage. The more your brand name crops up in topically relevant conversations online, the more likely it is to be mentioned and cited by LLMs and&nbsp;AI.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Organic traffic.&nbsp;<\/strong>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=_AQ9UDqES80\">Mark Williams-Cook<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/patents.google.com\/patent\/US9031929B1\/en\">Google assigns sites a \u201csite quality\u201d score<\/a>, based on brand metrics. To understand your website\u2019s quality, it analyzes your branded keywords, brand mentions that attract clicks (e.g. brand rich anchor text), and site clicks. Proactively building your brand awareness will inflate these metrics, boosting your site quality score and search ranking. And any ranking improvements will reinforce your brand visibility, creating a feedback loop of compounding awareness.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Brand protection.&nbsp;<\/strong>Brand awareness means less dependence on any one channel, and diversified traffic from multiple sources and channels. Outcomes like brand recall, recognition, perception, affinity, and sentiment are notoriously tricky to quantify because they rely on subjective, emotional responses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s more, some of your brand awareness counts as <a href=\"https:\/\/ahrefs.com\/blog\/earned-media\/\"><strong>earned<\/strong> <strong>media<\/strong><\/a>\u2014like PR, word of mouth, user-generated content, and social media. Measuring brand awareness can still be done, and when done right, it\u2019s hugely valuable, helping you&nbsp;to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Justify investment: <\/strong>Pinning down the brand awareness metrics you <em>can<\/em> measure will help you prove growth. With that evidence, you can secure investment, attract partnerships, and get sign-off on those harder-to-measure creative projects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>One-up your competition:<\/strong> Measuring brand awareness through methods like share of voice analysis can help you work out your market positioning, set realistic goals, and repurpose strategies that have worked for your competitors. Even if your competition has more awareness, if they\u2019re not measuring and proactively building on it, you can close that&nbsp;gap.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Figure out what works:<\/strong> Reviewing your brand awareness strategy shows you which tactics lead to the biggest surge in interest. Once you know what works, you can repeat successful campaigns, justify resource allocation, and more accurately tie output to&nbsp;ROI.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>So, it\u2019s hard to justify spend on brand because it\u2019s so\u2026 fluffy. Total and direct traffic growth<\/h3>\n\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to know whether people care about your brand, watch your traffic during a campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s not a perfect science, but it can help you quantify intangible goals like brand recall and recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When people recognize your brand, they\u2019re more likely to visit your site. Then, you can measure all those events in&nbsp;GA4.<\/p>\n<p>\n\n<\/p>\n<p>Once you have that data to hand, you can calculate conversion rates\u2014just divide conversions by the number of total visitors.<\/p>\n<p>\n\n<\/p>\n<p>For example, imagine the UK meal delivery brand <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cookfood.net\/\">Cook<\/a> running a \u201cCookTok\u201d campaign of recipe challenges on TikTok.
