capitalizing on a film, and waiting for post-event discussion to pick up before newsjacking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following a veerryy controversial bath scene in the film Saltburn, UK cosmetics retailer, Lush, jumped on the opportunity to insert their brand into a cultural moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In February 2024, three months after the film\u2019s release, they released the \u201cSaltbomb\u201d, a special edition, Saltburn-themed bath&nbsp;bomb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parodying some of the film\u2019s most risqu\u00e9 moments, Lush didn\u2019t hold back with their product marketing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure driving real, tangible organic traffic \u2013 including Global News, New York Times, Pop Sugar, and&nbsp;BBC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" \u2013 but affiliate links are a little trickier to&nbsp;track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s an example of what I&nbsp;mean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The site Allure wrote up a feature piece on the Lush bath bomb, but their affiliate link navigates to a third-party platform before redirecting to Lush\u2019s product page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" trendjacking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"recommendation\"><div class=\"recommendation-title\">Quick learnings<\/div><div class=\"recommendation-content\">\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Scout for affiliate links \u2013 you won\u2019t always know when a publisher plans to use an affiliate link, so searching for mentions of campaign keywords can help you find any affiliate coverage that has flown under the&nbsp;radar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Think about how your brand and its tangential topics can tie into cultural moments.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"post-nav-link Think retro streetwear, chic cardigans and customised clothing.
