However, as of 2023, they\u2019re also <a href=\"https:\/\/support.startpage.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/12727471498644-What-are-Startpage-s-enhanced-search-results\">partnering with MapQuest, HERE Technologies, Priceline, Tomorrow.io, Search Expander, and Microsoft Bing<\/a>. Still, according to the Netherlands-based search engine, your queries are <a href=\"https:\/\/support.startpage.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/4522435533844-What-is-the-relationship-between-Startpage-and-your-search-partners-like-Google-and-Microsoft-Bing\">anonymized<\/a> before search results are pulled from Google and Bing. This means all identifying information is blanketed, including your IP address. No tracking cookies are used either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Startpage also complies with the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/General_Data_Protection_Regulation\">General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)<\/a>, a European Union regulation that protects users\u2019 data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"post-174112-_e7yc9j4z383s\"><\/a>My favorite feature<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.startpage.com\/en\/anonymous-view\/\">\u201cAnonymous View\u201d<\/a> feature lets you visit websites from search results anonymously for both desktop and mobile. This means tracking cookies and personal identifiers, such as IP addresses, are not stored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the fact that DuckDuckGo\u2019s results are pulled from <a href=\"https:\/\/help.duckduckgo.com\/results\/sources\/?redir=1\">over 400 sources<\/a>, DuckDuckGo assures its users that it doesn\u2019t share any personal information with&nbsp;them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"post-174112-_t2japuq875gy\"><\/a>My favorite feature<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>DuckDuckGo\u2019s \u201cBangs\u201d feature takes you directly to search results on other sites. However, where needed, it supplements search results with Bing. The goal, though, is to move towards complete independence from external search providers.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, Qwant announced that it\u2019ll be partnering with Ecosia (see below) to develop their own European search index.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Qwant claims to be private, and it says it doesn\u2019t track your geolocation, collect data, or use tracking cookies.
