The benefit of this: the data looks more consistent, and it\u2019s useful to troubleshoot things like traffic drops.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the other hand, the new \u201cMonthly volume\u201d organic traffic chart is built using data <\/span><b>specific to that month<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. While the data looks more volatile, it takes <\/span><b>volume trend <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">into account and is useful for spotting search trends and monitoring seasonal traffic fluctuations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here\u2019s an example: <em>dodoburd.com<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They\u2019re an online gift shop, which means that they tend to rank for seasonal keywords like this&nbsp;one:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-133247\" src=\"https:\/\/ahrefs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Keywords_Explorer.jpg\" alt width=\"1212\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ahrefs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Keywords_Explorer.jpg 1212w, https:\/\/ahrefs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Keywords_Explorer-671x425.jpg 671w, https:\/\/ahrefs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Keywords_Explorer-260x166.jpg 260w, https:\/\/ahrefs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Keywords_Explorer-768x487.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1212px) 100vw, 1212px\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So dodoburd.com generally sees their traffic peaks during Christmas time. We\u2019ve<strong> fixed this bug<\/strong>&nbsp;and the database was rebuilt, so the numbers are now back to what they should have&nbsp;been.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The old Organic keywords and Top pages\/subfolders\/subdomains have not been affected by this change retrospectively.
