But, with so many trends, which should you follow, and which should you \u201cno follow?\u201d<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In this article, I\u2019ll use Ahrefs\u2019 data to find some of the most searched-for SEO trends and share my opinion on whether they\u2019re worth acting on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"intro-tok\" id=\"intro_tok\" style=\"display:none;\"><div class=\"intro-title\">Contents<\/div><a href=\"#\" class=\"expand-dots\"><span><\/span><span><\/span><span><\/span><\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>SEO trends typically follow a familiar cycle that looks a bit like the Gartner hype&nbsp;cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1046\" (max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Because\u2014let\u2019s face it, it\u2019s so easy to get too caught up in the hype of the next trend, before you\u2019ve even finished with the last&nbsp;one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With so many trends to consider, it\u2019s a good idea to sense-check them before we commit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We can do this by plugging them into Ahrefs\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/ahrefs.com\/keywords-explorer\/\">Keywords Explorer<\/a> to see the forecasted organic search trend data for each keyword.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Forecasted search volume is a new feature we\u2019ve added to Ahrefs, you can use it for any keyword, but I think it\u2019s great for spotting upcoming trends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter generally considered one of the most important <a href=\"https:\/\/ahrefs.com\/blog\/google-ranking-factors\/\">Google ranking factors<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, it may surprise you that Googler <a href=\"https:\/\/ch.linkedin.com\/in\/garyillyes\">Gary Illyes<\/a> recently said, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/patrickstox\/status\/1781349615465304466#\">Over the years, we\u2019ve made links less important<\/a>\u201d at a Bulgarian search conference recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWe need very few links to rank pages\u2026 Over the years And should you focus on other things rather than link building? Probably not. But despite this, every few years or so, voice search comes back into the foreground, and people once again buy into the hype.
