Hi Jeremy. I have a problem similar to the one you’ve described. The site has been the market leader for a while and suddenly lots of image gallery sites started to appear. This has basically killed the rankings. Have you got to the bottom of this by any chance? I mean constant disavow updates are just not feasible considering we’re getting hundreds of new gallery links each week.

Now they are creating 2nd tier links pointing to the spammy profile on our website, in literally hundreds of forums and blogs.

We know new penguin will ignore those links and they won’t affect our rankings, but a superficial manual review could get us penalized, so we are disavowing the links as they appear in our reports. However this is becoming a painful everyday job.

We tried to contact the spammer and threatened legal actions, but he ignored us and he keeps spamming.

Because all links are pointing to 1 page and it’s a profile we don’t need, I’m wondering if this could be a viable option to avoid the trouble:

What if we 301 redirect the spammy profile on our website to the spammer’s website so that all the stinky links are passed to them and finally report the spam to Google.

Will this only affect them or it could also damage us? Any thoughts?
